Featured Gemstone - Moonstone
Moonstone is famous for its otherworldly iridescence, which is properly called “adularescence.” Adularescence is caused by light scattering between microscopic layers of feldspar, which creates the effect of light billowing across the gem.
According to Hindu mythology, Moonstone is made of solidified moonbeams. The ancients believed that if you put Moonstone in your mouth during a full moon, you could read your own future. This was believed because the moon's gravitational pull was thought to coax the energy from the stone.
This peaceful stone is said to be lucky, bringing nourishment and clarity of purpose. Its gleam is associated with the bright, white energy of protection.
