The Beauty In Imperfection
I think Valentine’s Day is stereotypically seen as a holiday where people should be able to quantify their love with a Hallmark card message and a perfectly wrapped pink bow. However, the truth is sometimes love is messy; it requires hard work and effort.
Sometimes it looks like having the same argument over and over and realizing that you’re okay with the fact that you’re never going to see eye to eye, because you care more about your relationship than being right.
That’s what makes love beautiful. So for this collection I wanted to stray from the traditional red hues and heart shapes and focus on the pieces that, to me, represent how beautiful imperfection can be. A lot of my work is centered around taking unique gemstones, often with asymmetrical shapes, inclusions and other imperfections, and highlighting them.
They are all stunning works of art that I frame in gold. In this collection you will find many pieces near and dear to my heart. I share them with you in hopes that you feel encouraged to celebrate love in whatever way is meaningful to you this Valentines holiday, with the reminder that it doesn’t have to look perfect.
